Steve Skorey dreamed of owning his own excavator ever since he took the heavy equipment operators course at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo in 1990. He was hired right out of school by Denmar Equipment and worked in Victoria for six years gaining experience in the excavating industry. When he married Nikki in 1996 they decided to move back to Powell River - Steve’s hometown - to raise their family. Steve worked for Three Leaf Contracting until 2004.

In November 2004, an opportunity arose for Steve to purchase his own excavator. He decided to take the first steps toward branching out on his own. Steve kept his day job and on weekends started doing work for people in his new machine.

Over the years Steve has made a good name for himself by being meticulous and doing quality work. The rapid growth of Bolder Contracting has been an exciting challenge, which he meets daily with enthusiasm and competence.
